Hello lovely crafters - I am so glad you stopped by my shop.
I have been a crafter my whole life. Even when I was a kid, I always loved making things. More often than not you could find me drawing, painting, stitching, molding, or decorating. It's in my blood. Aside from my family - my wonderful husband and my adorable little son - it's pretty much all I think about. I could easily, and very happily, spend all day, every day, creating pretty things. I love being able to think up ideas, bring together a collection of tools and supplies, and creating something lovely to hang on the wall or give as a gift to someone special. It feels more personal, more heart felt... it feels like more of a connection.
Zen, you say?
Yes... so much yes! Anytime I sit down to do anything creative, I immediately get lost in the wonderful, cozy creative space in my mind. Anything stressing me out fades away. Anything I'm worried about loses its grasp on my nerves. Anything that's bringing me down melts away. I am in love with the peaceful, zen feeling that I get when I am making something. Some people find it through cooking, others through their job -- for me, it's crafting.
Why embroidery?
I have gone through the gambit of different crafting obsessions. I've done modeling clay, I've done drawing, I've done rock dotting (still do!), I've done sewing, I've done crochet (still do!), and I've done scrapbooking (still do!) - only to name a few. My "office" is overflowing with craft supplies. But what I have found with embroidery is an obsession and a passion. They tell us entrepreneurs that to be successful, you need to find a passion - something you think about night and day, something that drives you, that motivates you, that you never get tired of. I have found that with embroidery. I love all of the colors, the threads, the fabrics, the myriad different stitches. And I especially love the community of crafters who also enjoy this art. It's easy to learn, easy to get better at, and the results are so very lovely. I couldn't be happier with this medium and art form!
My Shop
I have been on Etsy for several years with various other shops - but this one is my baby, my favorite, and my most hopeful. I have purchased so many different patterns and so many of them are completely wonderful - I wanted to be a part of that and offer up some lovely designs for others to learn this craft and be proud of hanging on their walls. What was especially important to me was making sure that my instructions are super clear and super detailed, so that even someone who has never stitched before can figure it out easily and get some of that zen in crafting that I so cherish! I am delighted to be able to share my designs with you all... I have so many more ideas in my head and can't wait to get them on fabric to share.
If you purchase one of my patterns, I would absolutely LOVE to hear how it went for you and see your final results. And if you ever get stuck - or even just want to ask a more seasoned stitcher a question - I am here for you! Please contact me - I would love to connect.
With gratitude,
Shannon
